PRESS: Internet company VK seen working on Tinder analogue
MOSCOW, May 5 (PRIME) -- Russian Internet company VK is working on an analogue of a dating application after Tinder announced its withdrawal from the country, business daily Vedomosti reported on Friday quoting sources.
VK is developing its own dating application in which the user will not be identified via an account of social network VKontakte. It could be launched already in June–August, the daily said quoting several sources.
VKontakte already has dating service VK Znakomstva, which appeared in November 2021. It opens on a separate page and is integrated into the catalogue of other services, including Health and Weather.
Accelerator Fintech Lab analyst Sergei Vilyanov said that the allocation of the dating functions into an individual platform is a logical step because people do not like mixing personal with public matters.
